A landmark building on the South Bank undergoes transformation
One Southwark Bridge Road, a prominent structure in London, has undergone a significant redevelopment. Formerly the headquarters of the FT (Financial Times), the building has a rich history and is now set to embark on a new chapter. The new design incorporates more space in front of the building that was lacking previously, and the addition of a coffee shop to enjoy the city views over the Thames.
The building, originally constructed in 1989, has been acquired by the global advertising and public relations giant, WPP. Their vision, to transform the space into a modern, dynamic office environment that will serve as a key part of their London campus.
The redevelopment plans include adding an extra storey, an enhanced façade with double glazing, and external fins for shading. The building’s overall appearance will be modernized while respecting its existing architectural character.
